March Featured Race: Papa John’s 10 Miler

WHAT

Experience a warm welcome in the “Gateway of the South” by joining thousands of running enthusiasts for the Papa John’s 10 Miler in Louisville, Kentucky. This race is the third and final leg of the Louisville Triple Crown of Running from Planet Fitness. Participants will begin the race right outside of the world-famous Churchill Downs horse racing course at Third Street.

The challenging course takes racers up and down hills throughout the downtown Louisville region. It starts on a fairly flat area along Southern Parkway and into Iroquois Park and an open amphitheater. Then, racers will continue by crossing over an overpass on Central Avenue. The race’s finish line is at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium bronze parking lot.

Papa John's 10 Miler Start LineIf you simply want to watch the race or cheer for your favorite runner, you can see all of the action up close at the stadium on the Video Board. The official start time for the race is 8:00 am, and participants have until 11:30 am to finish. Walkers are also welcome to participate. This race is also committed to one of the most advanced time tracking systems around for the most accurate results. Racers can opt to use the ChronoTrack Timing System, with a disposable tracking tag that attaches to the runner’s bib. This can help accurately and easily time your pacing and finish.

In addition to the main event, there are other races throughout the day of celebration. The wheelchair race begins at 7:59. Kids can also join in on the action with a series of fun runs especially designed for kids of all ages that start at 10:30 am.

The other events for the Triple Crown include the Anthem 5K Fitness Classic on Saturday, March 10th, and the Rodes City Run 10K on Saturday, March 24th.

The Louisville Triple Crown of Running supports the WHAS Crusade for the Children. All of the proceeds from the event support this important charity. Since 1954, this local charity has been providing services and benefits to children in the area with special needs.
