Joe Desena (Spartan/DEKAFIT) and Troy Busot (Athlinks) discuss a new indoor timed race format featuring 5K of running and 10 functional exercises.
On January, 31, 2020 we spent an evening with the founder of Spartan Race, Joe Desena, at the Denver Broncos training facility in Denver, CO. He, along with hundreds of staff members, athletes, and local fitness supporters were there to kick off the upcoming inaugural season of DEKAFIT – the a new sport from the OG OCR company.

The format is simple. Between the 10 exercises, athletes will run 500M to the next zone (10x500M). The exercise zones are located on the inside of the track and are as follows:
- Zone 1: 30 Ram Alt Reverse Lunge
- Zone 2: 500M Row
- Zone 3: 20 Box Jump Over/Step Overs
- Zone 4: 25 Med Ball Situp Throw
- Zone 5: 500M Ski Erg
- Zone 6: 100M Farmers Carry
- Zone 7: 25C Air Bike
- Zone 8: 20 Dead Ball Wall Overs
- Zone 9: 100M Tank Pull/Push
- Zone 10: 20 RAM Burpees
