February Featured Race: Lost Dutchman Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and 8K

WHAT:

Formed in 2001 with the idea of having a destination marathon in the most beautiful area of the Phoenix Metro Valley, the Lost Dutchman Marathon and it’s associated races are a favorite of serious marathoners and casual runners alike. This event is held annually over President’s day weekend near the rumored site of the legendary Lost Dutchman Mine. Runners can depend on a beautiful location, excellent weather, great volunteers, and fast times.

Beginning near Gold Canyon, AZ (30 miles east of Phoenix), the marathon is a scenic, rolling, point-to-point, USATF certified course that can be used as a qualifier for the Boston Marathon (claim your result!). This year the race will be using Live Runner Tracking again for the 2018 Marathon and Half Marathon. With significantly more timing locations on the course, friends and family will be able to track your progress live via Facebook, Twitter, text message, or email. You will be able to sign up for Live Runner Tracking here closer to race day.

Looking for something to do before or after the race? There are some beautiful golf courses and unique adventures awaiting around Gold canyon and Apache Junction. Don’t forget to visit Tortilla Flat and get that one-of-a kind postcard to send home. You can also join the Friends of Lost Dutchman Park on Saturday for the Second Annual Lost Dutchman State Park Benefit Ride.  This (not exclusively motorcycle) ride starts at Superstition Harley-Davidson and ends at Lost Dutchman State Park. The full $15.00 registration fee goes to benefit the park with lunch and live entertainment provided by Superstition Harley-Davidson.
